Emma Stephenson - Strand Co-ordinator
Emma joined the programme in August 2004 and is the Strand 4 Co-ordinator as part of her role as Outreach Manager for the University of Exeter. Having relocated from London, where she previously worked as Aimhigher Co-ordinator for a London Borough and as Widening Participation Officer for Roehampton University, Emma has had experience of Aimhigher from both the school and the HEI side. She has planned and delivered a wide range of activities for students including residentials and conferences as well as running mentoring programmes, subject taster days and campus visits. The Strand 4 work on producing high quality resources and training for IAG providers are key elements of Emma’s commitment to improving student decision-making at key transition points in their progression through education.

Rachel Wheeler - Development Officer
Rachel started working as the Information and Resources Development Officer in March 2010. Her role is to develop the range of publications that the Peninsula Programme produce. She is also responsible for the gr8choice website and for developing Teaching Resources that raise aspiration and awareness of Higher Education.
Rachel previously worked as an Employment Coach delivering Information, Advice and Guidance services to unemployed adults. She enjoyed the aspect of this work that encouraged people to fulfil their potential. She is interested in the experiences of long-term unemployed adults and is studying a PhD at the University of Exeter researching this area. Rachel did her undergraduate degree at Bath Spa University where she studied English and Study of Religions. She feels she gained a huge amount from the experience of University and loved the course she studied and the social life.

Anne Nicholls - Strand 4 Assistant
Anne works part-time supporting Strand 4 in delivering a range of publications to audiences across the Peninsula Programme. Her background is in marketing and was Marketing Coordinator at a regional firm of architects before taking up this position. Prior to that she worked for the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium based at the University of Reading and for various picture libraries in London.
Anne studied Art History at the University of Warwick and thoroughly loved all aspects of her time at University believing that everybody should have the opportunity to go if they want to.
