Strand 4 - Information and resources
Aim
To support the delivery of quality information, advice and guidance on higher education in the following ways:
- Provision of accurate updates to key messages about higher education including student finance and progression routes.
- Production of a suite of effective resources both printed and on the web that contribute to the aims of the programme in raising awareness of and aspiration to higher education.
- Delivery of training opportunities for IAG providers as well as school and college staff to support their knowledge of key messages about higher education and to support the effective use of Aimhigher resources.
Description
The strand is designed to provide high-quality resources for students, parents and carers, teachers and advisers that help bridge the gaps in understanding and knowledge that often prove barriers to progression in education.
By continuing to support the work of Programme Officers in other strands as well as other IAG providers and by actively seeking to promote ways in which this comprehensive range of resources can be used in schools, colleges and with other key stakeholders, it is the Strand’s aim to maximise the benefits derived from them.
