Hannah Hannah Partington - Strand 3 Co-ordinator

Hannah is the Widening Participation Officer at University College Falmouth and Coordinator of APP Strand Three, Creative Steps. Hannah first moved to Falmouth from the West Midlands in 1996, to study Broadcasting. Once she had graduated she was elected Student Union President in 1999. A year or so out of work followed the birth of her son in 2000 before she returned to work for Falmouth as Education Liaison Officer. She took up the position of WP Officer in 2002 and continues in this role today with as much enthusiasm as when she started! She loves working and living in Falmouth and thinks she may have the shortest 'commute' to work in the APP (300 metres approx!).

Jane

Jane Atkinson - Strand 3 Practitioner

Jane Atkinson is the Strand 3 Arts Participation Worker at University College Falmouth. Jane's background is in Education and the Media having previously held positions as College Liaison Officer at Exmouth Community College, Devon and Education Co-ordinator for NIE (Newspapers in Education) for West Country Publications at the Express & Echo Newspaper Offices in Exeter. Back in 2000, with a 'big' birthday looming and the turn of the new millennium Jane decided to make a huge career change and took up the challenge of going to University, something she had managed to avoid in the past! There her life changed enormously, making new friends, going on field trips and visits abroad and learning new things, as well as having to cope daily with new challenges and the added pressure of studying for a joint degree.

Having completed a BA (Hons) in Heritage and Visual Arts at the University of Plymouth in 2003, Jane decided to devote her time to becoming a professional artist, and embarked on an MA in Contemporary Visual Arts at University College Falmouth, completing in September 2005. At the same time she took on art commissions with the National Trust at Glendurgan Garden and local Dance Theatre Company 'The Works' at Trebah Gardens, and is presently working on arts initiatives with the international 'Cycleau Project' looking at the value and conservation of rivers. Having had such fun on her MA, making art and becoming a mature-student ambassador, Jane fell in love with Falmouth and the art college environment, and decided to stay in Cornwall. Jane is known amongst friends as being a bit bonkers, never turning down a challenge and enjoys a good time out around Falmouth with her mates. She is delighted to take up her new position based at UCF and is looking forward to working with everyone on the wider team and especially with student ambassadors and facilitating projects with particular focus on Looked After Young People.
